Meghann Wright is a GRAMMY award-winning music marketing strategist whose decade-long career is known for building brands, scaling artist careers, and pushing records both on and off the stage. The Hawaiian-born HITS Noisemaker has touched every corner of the music industry, starting as a touring and recording artist and eventually moving into the business side, spanning talent buying, PR, distribution, studio work, and more. Currently, Wright is the Marketing Director at Sun Label Group, leading physical and digital marketing campaigns across all label rosters under the umbrella of Primary Wave, including Sun Records, Gaither Music, Green Hill Music, and the brand’s wellness-focused platform emeraldwave by Green Hill.
From pop and hip-hop to rock, country, alternative, dance, and ambient, Wright has powered over 150 records featuring artists such as Olivia Newton-John, Paul Anka, Paul Rodgers, Melissa Etheridge, ZZ Ward, Ben Gallaher, and Pat Metheny, among many others. She led two Best Contemporary Blues GRAMMY award-winning projects with Ruthie Foster’s Mileage and Robert Randolph’s Preacher Kids. Now, she’s taking catalogs from legendary artists and brand new music to the wellness space with emeraldwave by Green Hill, harnessing the force of music to help humans focus, heal, and find joy in their lives. Before Sun Label Group, Wright was the Marketing & Project Manager for Symphonic Distribution, where she launched the company’s artist marketing department from New York City and later launched the same department in their newly minted Nashville branch. There, she played a key role in bringing to life Jazz is Dead alongside world-renowned composer and producers Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad. Wright was also behind Dallas Austin’s label and distribution company, led strategy for the Canadian Country label MDM Records, and supported the breakout of singer-songwriter Genevieve Stokes.
Prior to Symphonic, she performed on Vans Warped Tour, retired from the road, and started her own company, GrindEthos Artist & Label Services. She was also the Business and Operations Manager at Premier Studios, catering to producers, songwriters, and artists including J. Cole, Busta Rhymes, DJ Khaled, Trey Songz, and L.A. Reid.
When not at her computer or at industry events, Wright can be found crafting and exploring with her son who shares the same passion for science and the arts.
