VOLUMEs Attendee Help Center — Zuddl Event Support

What do you need help with?

See below for all the different helpful resources you can use to troubleshoot any issues or find out more information about the event.

Audio

No sound, audio that's muted by the browser, or sound cutting out.

I can't hear anything, or the sound keeps cutting out

Quick fix: check Chrome's own site‑sound setting — it can silently mute the event even when your device volume is fine.

  1. Check your device isn't muted and the volume is turned up.
  2. In Chrome: open the menu → SettingsPrivacy and securitySite settings → find the Zuddl event under Recent Activity → set Sound to Allow , and make sure "Mute sites that play sound" is switched off.
  3. Turn off any VPN — Windows: system tray or Control Panel; macOS: System Preferences → Network; Mobile: Settings → Network/Connections.
  4. Open the event in an Incognito/Private window to rule out a cached or cookie‑related block.
  5. If it's still not working, clear your browsing data: Chrome menu → More toolsClear browsing data → check "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" → Clear data .
Still no audio after the basics
  1. Switch browsers — Google Chrome is recommended for the best event experience, but Microsoft Edge, Firefox, or Safari (iOS) are good fallbacks.
  2. Disable browser extensions: go to chrome://extensions (or menu → Extensions → Manage Extensions) and turn off anything that could be blocking site audio or permissions, especially ad blockers.
  3. On a company or school network, ask IT to whitelist Zuddl's domains or temporarily disable the firewall — corporate firewalls are a common silent blocker.
  4. Try a different device (laptop, desktop, or phone) to isolate whether it's device‑specific.
  5. Install the Zuddl mobile app as a fallback if browser access keeps failing.

On some Safari versions, only "System Default Speaker Device" is available as an output option — switch to Chrome if you need to pick a specific speaker.

Video & Camera

Camera won't load, video freezes, or the page won't connect.

My camera won't load, or the event won't connect properly

Quick fix: open the event in a Chrome Incognito window first — it resolves most one‑off connection and permission issues immediately.

  1. Turn off any VPN — Windows: system tray or Control Panel; macOS: System Preferences → Network; Mobile: Settings → Network/Connections.
  2. Switch to Google Chrome if you're on another browser — it's the platform's most compatible browser.
  3. Open the event in an Incognito/Private window to bypass cache and cookie issues.
  4. Clear your browsing data: Chrome menu → More toolsClear browsing data → check "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" → Clear data .
Still stuck after the basics
  1. Try an alternate browser: Microsoft Edge (default on Windows 10), Firefox, or Safari for iOS.
  2. Disable browser extensions at chrome://extensions .
  3. Ask IT to check for a company firewall blocking Zuddl's domains.
  4. Switch devices — laptop, desktop, or mobile.
  5. Install the Zuddl mobile app (iOS or Android) as an alternative way in.

If video loads but is blurry, laggy, or buffering, that's a bandwidth issue — see Internet & Bandwidth and try Lite Mode.

Internet & Bandwidth

Laggy video, buffering, or getting disconnected.

Video is laggy, freezing, or constantly buffering

Quick fix: turn on Lite Mode — a built‑in low‑bandwidth stream made for exactly this.

  1. Click "Audio/video issues?" on the bottom bar and toggle on Lite Mode .
  2. Lite Mode adapts the stream to your connection. Expect roughly a 20–30 second delay, and note that interactive features like polls won't work while it's on.
  3. If you're the first attendee to enable it, allow up to 20 seconds for video to appear — after that, it loads instantly for everyone else.
  4. Turn Lite Mode back off once your connection, or the room's overall load, stabilizes.
I keep getting disconnected, or the connection is unstable
  1. Turn off any VPN — Windows: system tray or Control Panel; macOS: System Preferences → Network; Mobile: Settings → Network/Connections.
  2. Test your speed at speedtest.net and compare against the minimums below.
  3. Confirm you're on a stable Wi‑Fi connection; restart your router if it's been disconnecting.
  4. Contact your ISP if the issue persists, or try a mobile hotspot as a temporary workaround.
What internet speed do I actually need?
Link Minimum Recommended Best
Uplink 4 Mbps 8 Mbps 20+ Mbps
Downlink 3 Mbps 8 Mbps 20+ Mbps

Upload needs scale with your own video quality: ~3–5 Mbps for 480p, 10+ Mbps for 720p, 20+ Mbps for 1080p. Download needs scale with how many speakers are on stage: ~4 Mbps for 4 speakers, 6–7 Mbps for 5–9 speakers, 20 Mbps for 10+ speakers.

Logging In & Joining

Getting from your confirmation email into the live room.

How do I log in and join the event?
  1. After registering, find your confirmation email and click the "Go to event" button.
  2. Log in either by entering the email address you registered with, or via social login.
  3. Click "Enter now" to reach the lobby.
  4. The platform automatically checks your connection speed — you can still continue even if it's below ideal.
  5. Set up your audio and video, test your speaker, and optionally add a virtual background.
  6. Click "Join room" to enter the event.
I never received my confirmation email, or the link won't work
  1. Check spam, promotions, and any quarantine folder — event platform emails are frequently filtered by corporate mail security.
  2. Search your inbox for "Zuddl" rather than the event name — the sender address doesn't always match the event branding.
  3. Confirm you're searching the same email address you registered with — a work vs. personal email mismatch is the most common cause.
  4. Use the most recent "Go to event" email if you have more than one — don't use an older, bookmarked copy.
  5. Still nothing? Email VOLUMEs support (below) with the address you registered with, and we'll help you get in.

Requirements & Setup

Supported browsers, devices, and permissions.

Which browser and device do I need?
Browser Minimum Best experience
Chrome (recommended) v76+ v94+
Safari v11+ Latest, or one version back
Microsoft Edge v80+
  1. Runs on macOS 10+ or Windows 7+.
  2. Minimum device spec: quad‑core processor, 8GB RAM. Zuddl events are best experienced on a laptop or desktop — mobile works, with limited features.
  3. Nothing to download — Zuddl runs entirely in the browser.
The page looks broken or elements are missing
  1. Hard‑refresh with Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + R to clear a stale cached layout.
  2. Disable ad blockers or privacy extensions for the event domain at chrome://extensions — these occasionally strip out interactive elements like polls or chat.
  3. Zoom your browser back to 100% ( Cmd/Ctrl + 0 ) — some layouts break at non‑default zoom levels.
  4. Try an Incognito/Private window to rule out extension conflicts entirely.
I accidentally blocked camera/mic permission and can't find where to fix it
  1. Chrome/Edge: click the lock icon left of the URL → set Camera and Microphone to Allow → refresh.
  2. Safari: Safari → Settings → Websites → Camera/Microphone → find the event domain → set to Allow .
  3. Firefox: click the camera/lock icon in the address bar → clear the block → refresh and accept the prompt.
  4. After changing permissions, always refresh the page — permission changes don't apply retroactively to an already‑open tab.
On a work or school laptop, nothing above is helping
  1. Ask your IT department to whitelist Zuddl's domains or temporarily disable a strict firewall — this is one of the most common silent blockers on managed networks.
  2. If a VPN is enforced by policy and can't be disabled, try attending from a personal device or mobile hotspot instead.

Captions & Language

On‑screen captions and live interpretation into another language.

How do I turn on captions?
  1. On the stage, every enabled language is shown as a selectable option for attendees.
  2. Pick your preferred language — if you don't want captions, an "Off" option is also available.
  3. Once selected, captions appear just below the stage preview.

Your language choice can't be changed once the stage goes live, so pick before the broadcast starts.

How do I hear a live interpreted (translated) audio feed?
  1. Click the translation icon (next to the settings gear icon) on the stage to open the interpreter widget.
  2. Choose your preferred language from the dropdown.
  3. Click Connect .

After connecting, mute the original audio stream — otherwise you'll hear both the primary and translated audio at once.

Streaming & Recordings

Playback sync, chat/Q&A, and finding a session afterward.

Chat, Q&A, or polls panel won't load
  1. Refresh the page — side panels occasionally fail to mount on the initial load, especially on a slow connection.
  2. Disable ad blockers for the event domain; some block the chat panel's real‑time connection outright.
  3. Check you haven't collapsed the panel by accident — look for a small arrow or tab along the edge of the video player to expand it back out.

Note: while Lite Mode is on, interactive features like polls are disabled by design.

Audio and video are out of sync
  1. Refresh the page — sync drift accumulates over long sessions and a fresh stream connection resets it.
  2. Pause and resume playback if watching an on‑demand recording — this re‑anchors the sync point.
  3. If it's specific to one recording, note the timestamp and report it to VOLUMEs support.
I can't find or access the on‑demand recording afterward
  1. Recordings are typically processed and published within a few hours after a session ends — check back shortly if the event just wrapped.
  2. Use the same registration email and event link you used to attend live; on‑demand access is usually tied to that same login.
  3. If it's been over 24 hours with no access, email VOLUMEs support with the session name and date.

Mobile App & Mobile Browser

Phone and tablet-specific issues.

Should I use the app or my mobile browser?

Zuddl events are built for laptop or desktop first, with mobile offering a limited feature set. If browser access on mobile is giving you trouble, installing the Zuddl app (iOS or Android) is one of the platform's own recommended fallbacks for camera, mic, and connection issues.

The link opens in my email or social app instead of the browser/app
  1. Long‑press the link and choose "Open in Safari/Chrome" instead of tapping it directly — in‑app browsers (Gmail, LinkedIn, Instagram) block camera and mic access entirely.
  2. If you have the Zuddl app installed, opening the link should offer to launch it directly — accept that prompt rather than staying in the in‑app browser.
My phone's battery drains fast or it overheats during the event
  1. Lower screen brightness and close other background apps — video streaming is one of the most demanding tasks for mobile hardware.
  2. Plug in while attending long sessions.
  3. Turn off your own camera when you're only listening, not presenting, to reduce load significantly.
Notifications aren't coming through on mobile
  1. Check the Zuddl app has notification permission enabled in your phone's system settings.
  2. Confirm Do Not Disturb / Focus mode isn't silencing app notifications during the event window.

No matches for that. Try one of these topics instead:
