CLAYTON TONEY
Artist Manager
Neon Coast
Clayton Toney is a Texas-born music veteran who has spent nearly a decade of his career spanning artist development, touring, A&R, and artist management at every level. Having executed over 1,500 live shows and averaging 200+ a year, Toney transitioned his grit of working manual labor jobs growing up into building a reputation as one of country music's most dependable behind-the-scenes forces — equal parts instinct-driven creative and boots-on-the-ground operator. Currently, he’s an Artist Manager at Neon Coast, a forward-thinking music and entertainment company based in Nashville, Tennessee. Known for its fan-first, future-facing approach, Neon Coast specializes in global artist development within the country music space. Here, Toney manages country superstar Randall King who has skyrocketed to over 500 millions streams, 750,000+ social media followers, and selling out shows intenrationally in nearly 10 countries.
Prior to Neon Coast, Toney served as day-to-day manager for Randall King and Roger Creager along with A&R development for CMA Male Vocalist of the Year award winner Cody Johnson at Durango Artist Management. While there, Toney made a significant mark as an A&R voice, supporting the album development processes for both Randall King and Cody Johnson. Most notably, he lent his A&R skills to Cody Johnson's Human: The Double Album, helping find "'Til You Can't" — a song that became a multi-week #1, earned CMA Single of the Year, CMA Video of the Year, and a Grammy Award, and has since been certified 5x Platinum. He also contributed to Johnson's Leather Deluxe Edition, which took home CMA Album of the Year and featured standout tracks such as "The Painter," "Dirt Cheap," and "I'm Gonna Love You." For Randall King, Toney's latest A&R work included Into The Neon which became named one of the best country albums of the year by Whiskey Riff, Country Now, and Entertainment Focus.
